TGIF men’s group who gather every Friday morning at 05h30 in Durbanville Cape Town invited William as speaker
Message Summary:
“Go then and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them into The Name of The Father and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).
You may be sitting here this morning asking, “How could God ever use you? What you have to offer Him? What you could do for Him?” If you have the desire burning in your heart to live for Jesus, but feel that you are under qualified, or not as important as a John, a James, Luke or Matthew, then I want to tell you, it doesn’t go about who you are, but what God can make of you. In these verses of Scripture we see something extremely important that I hope will answer the question, “Are you good enough to be used by God?” Let’s look at the group of people Jesus is addressing, and you will learn just how a valuable disciple, evangelist, apostle, minister you are to God after all. We see here a group of men Jesus had to openly rebuke for their doubting and lack of faith.
These are people who slept while Jesus prayed! Who denied him at the cross while He hung there dying in agony! Who hid while He bled! Who ran from the resurrection! Who refused to believe that He had risen even though he had told them beforehand that He would do so! This does not seem like a very likely lot of candidates to be ordained by any church or Christian organization. Nevertheless, a tremendous thing happened then: Jesus did what only God would do. After rebuking them He turns around and in the very next breathe He tells them to “Go into the entire world and preach the Gospel. Despite their human nature, despite their weaknesses and failures! Jesus commissioned these men with this great task, and we need to see the reason behind this. It was because when He looked at them; He was not looking at what they were. Jesus was looking at what He could make of them!
It’s not your weaknesses God is looking at. It’s not your faith failures doubts. It’s not your strength, money or qualifications! Jesus is only looking at what He can make of you! Remember the disciples were also human! They had the same failures we have. The same shortcomings! The same weaknesses! The same problems! The same battles! The same temptations you and I have! But when God looks down upon man, He does not look at him for what he is. He looks at what He can transform that life into. The Holy Spirit is telling us today; it’s not what you are! It’s what you can be in the hands of God! If you are willing to surrender your total being into His hands, all that you are! Just as you are! You will then go forth in His power and fulfil His assignment. “Go into the entire world and preach the gospel”
