Who Is Jesus?

Millions of people, who have come to the knowledge of Who Jesus is, have made the most important discovery of their entire life. It is the ultimate revelation that every human being needs to receive. Not knowing who Jesus Is, was the reason why I lived in darkness all my life. And is the very reason why so many people are living in complete bondage and total defeat. This is a question that each one of us need to answer.

Jesus put it this way; “But who do YOU say I am?” (Matthew 16:15)

With this question personalized it becomes the most important question one can ever be asked, or answer. Who Is Jesus to You? It is my prayer that God Almighty will reveal unto you Who Jesus Is. Please allow yourself to be led by The Holy Spirit into this Great Truth.

The Scriptures give testimony that from all eternity, Jesus, Who is called The “Word”, existed a distinct person, equal to, and was the express image of His divine Father. And that Jesus possessed every Excellency of Godhead.

That is in the beginning of time and things, The Three Divine persons, Father, Son Jesus, and Holy Spirit, in one Godhead, created the Heaven and the earth.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1)

“Originally was The Word (the Son), and The Word was with God, and The Word was God. The same was originally with God. All things through Him (Jesus) came into existence, and without Him came into existence not even one thing: that which hath come into existence.” (John 1:1-3)

Through Faith we understand that The Word of God, who became flesh, was the promised Messiah, The Son of God. In the book of Isaiah, the prophet Isaiah wrote the following of Jesus, seven hundred years before He was born;

“Wherefore let my Master Himself give you a sign, Lo! a virgin being with child and giving birth to a Son, thou wilt call His name Immanuel.” (which being translated, God with us).” (Isaiah 7:14)

“For a child hath been born to us, a Son hath been given to us, and the dominion is upon His shoulder, and His Name hath been called Wonderful Counsellor, of the Mighty ELOHIM, of the Father of Futurity, Prince of Prosperity.” (Isaiah 9:6)

Jesus saith unto him, “I Am The Way, and The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto The Father but by Me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also; and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him.” Phillip saith unto Him, “Master! show us The Father, and it sufficeth us.” Jesus saith unto him, “Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou hast not come to know me, Phillip? He that hath seen me, hath seen The Father, and how sayest thou then, Shew us The Father? Believest thou not that I am in The Father and The Father in Me? He doeth The Works. Believe that I Am in The Father, and The Father in Me: or else believe Me for the very Works sake.” (John 14:6-11)

Jesus Himself is the only mean of access to, and acceptance with God, and of our receiving grace and eternal blessedness from Him. Jesus said to Philip that He Jesus Is The Way, as, by His Own Blood, He entered into The Holy Place, and has thereby opened a path for us to follow Him.

He Is The Truth, as all the legal types and ancient promises are fulfilled in Him. He has attested the Truths of God, and taught The Sure Way to Heaven.

And He Is The Life, as He has life in Himself, and is The Author of Spiritual and Eternal Life to all that believe in Him; so that no man can acceptably approach God in worship, or have any comfortable communion with Him, by faith and love here, or any personal admission to His immediate presence hereafter, in any other way than byJesus.

By knowing what Jesus is in person, natures, and office, we will know what The Father Is, Who Is One with Jesus in all essential properties.

And as we have seen The Father, in the manifestations which Jesus has made of His Power and Goodness, we now know by the descent of The Holy Ghost, and by other means more and more of Him. By knowing Jesus, we know that He Is The express Image of God, in His Person, Offices, and Work.

In Him we have seen the most lively displays of The Fathers Perfections. Jesus and His Father, though distinct persons, are essentially united, and have the most real, mutual, and intimate communion in Godhead. Jesus did not preach the doctrines which we have heard, or perform the miraculous works which tens of thousands had seen, but as inseparably united to and sent by The Father. Therefore by the authority of His word, and upon the credit of His miracles which He performed in such an Godlike manner, we believe that Jesus and The Father have an essential and inseparable inbeing in one another.

“Moreover she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His Name Jesus –  for He shall save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)

“Tell ye and bring near, yea let them take counsel together, who let this be know aforetime, in past time declared it? Was it not I? And there is none else that is God besides Me! I am righteous and ready to save, there is none besides Me!.” (Isaiah 45:21).

Renounce all your idols! Jesus is the “only”, Almighty, and Effectual Saviour. He alone delivers man from sin, and all the miseries which it entails. He alone advances us to everlasting happiness. Jesus has sworn and has most faithfully performed His promise, to manifest Himself The True God, and make multitudes of all nations submit to His Government and Worship.

To Jesus does all The Fathers chosen ones come. He alone draws and brings them into a state of union to Jesus’ person, and through His righteousness, shall all the peculiar people of God have their sins pardoned, and their persons accepted. In Jesus shall they rejoice and boast forever and ever and ever!

“Yet I, have been thy God from the land of Egypt; and none beside Me shalt thou acknowledge, for saviour is there none besides Me.” (Hosea 13:4)

“And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by God through the prophet saying, Out of Egypt have called I My Son.” (Matthew 2:15)

Jesus said unto her, “I Am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on Me, even though he die, shall live again” (John 11:25)

“Yet to us there is one God, the Father, of Whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Master, Jesus the Messiah, through Whom are all things, and we through Him.” (1Corinthians 8:6)

Amos: 1 Prophesy.  Jonah: 1 Prophesy.  Micah: 4 Prophesies.

Zechariah: 4 Prophesies.  Malachi: 2 Prophesies.

Here are but a few prophesies of Jesus, from The Old Testament, being fulfilled in The New.

Jesus’ Conception. (Isaiah 7:14 – Matthew 1:23)

Wherefore let my Master Himself shall give you a sign; Lo! a virgin being with child and giving birth to a Son, thou wilt call His Name Emmanuel, which being translated, God with us (Isaiah 7:14)

Lo! a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His Name Emmanuel, which being translated, God with us.” (Matthew 1:23)

Full and convincing is the evidence that our Jesus is The True Messiah, the Saviour of Jews and Gentiles, males and females, of sinners, even the worst of sinners! How miraculous was His conception and birth, and how honourably testified! With great wisdom God conducted every circumstance thereof, to His honour, and the happiness of those concerned.

Place of Birth. (Micah 5:2 – Matthew 2:1)

Thou therefore, Bethlehem Ephratha, though little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall Mine come forth to be the ruler in Israel; whose comings forth have been from of old, from the days of age-past time. (Micah 5:2)

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, lo! wise men from eastern parts came into Jerusalem: (Matthew 2:1)

Jesus, begotten by The Father, was born in the small city of Bethlehem Judah, to be the Great Ruler and Governor of The Church. In the most powerful manner, to His and His Fathers honour Jesus was born to gather, and govern, establish and perfect His Gospel Church. His Kingdom extended, and His Honour advanced over the world. Yes, even beyond the world, beyond the stars, throughout time and space!

King on a Colt (Zechariah 9:9 – Luke 19:35)

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem; behold thy King cometh unto thee, He is Just, and having salvation; lowly; and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. (Zechariah 9:9)

And they brought him unto Jesus; and throwing their mantels over the colt, they seated Jesus thereon. (Luke 19:35)

How The Almighty Power of all space and time, our Powerful Saviour entering Jerusalem, being so humble that He rides on an ass, upon a colt.

How great Jesus is, what a perfect example of how power should be managed. The people rejoice knowing that This is their KING who brings salvation. They worship Him! Hosanna in the Highest!

Betrayal (Psalm 41:9 – Matthew 26:49-50)

Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of My bread, hath lifted up his heal against me.” (Psalm 41:9)

And straight away coming unto Jesus, he said, “Joy to Thee! Rabbi,” and eagerly kissed Him. But Jesus said unto him, “Friend wherefore art thou here?” Then coming forward they thrust their hands upon Jesus, and secured Him. (Matthew 26:49-50)

Judas, a Disciple, one of the twelve, who had eaten with Jesus, who had seen His glory, who had known His person, seen His gracious heart, turns against Jesus, and betrays the Messiah, with a Kiss. Betrays innocent Blood!

Hated Without Cause (Psalm 69:4 – John 15:25)

More than the hairs of my head are they who hate me without cause, firmer than my bones are they who are my foes for false cause, what I had not plundered, then had I to restore . (Psalm 69:4)

But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. ( John 15:25)

Jesus had in the plainest manner demonstrated His Messiahship among them. Yet, they refused to believe in Him. They had been given the clearest evidence of the Divinity of His person, office and doctrine, still they opposed HIM. Still they hated Him without cause.

Jesus worked among them so many merciful miracles as no other man has ever worked in such a sovereign and godlike manner. Healing the sick. Opening the eyes of the blind. Raising the dead. Opening blocked ears. But, still they hated Him, making themselves the enemies of His heavenly Father who sent Him, and has given public testimony to Him as His Beloved Son. If Jesus had not worked among them, they might still have had some reason of excusing their disbelief, or at least lessening its guilt for hating Him.

Opened Not His Mouth (Isaiah 53:7 – Matthew 27:12)

He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.” (Isaiah 53:7)

“And when He was accused of the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing. (Matthew 27:12)

Jesus was persecuted as a notorious criminal by the very people who claimed to know The Father. Here Jesus suffered in the most patient manner, keeping His peace, as the hypocritical rulers, the angry mob, the inwardly convinced heathen governor, the profane soldiers abuse Him and stand before Him planning to murder Him. This all, to be punished in our place for our sins, that He might purchase our eternal salvation.

They cry for His Blood!! In the most dreadful manner they tempted Him to abandon His work of redemption. But willingly and steadily Jesus persevered in His ransoming of sinful men! The malice of the priests and elders, the treachery of Judas, the wrath of the mob, the judge Pilate, the insults of the soldiers, and yet, Jesus opened not His mouth! With pleasure He would go to the cross and breathe out His last.

Vinegar To Drink (Psalm 69:21 – Matthew 27:34)

But they put in my food poison! and for my thirst they gave for my drink, vinegar!(Psalm 69:21)

They gave Him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when He had tasted thereof, He would not drink. (Matthew 27:34)

While we read these things, let us, with deep concern, take note of how Jesus was charged with our sins, and never forget how He was rejected and murdered. That while He was dying how the soldiers insulted Him, humiliated Him, and cruelly offer Jesus vinegar to drink.

Let us never account any thing too much to be given, or to be suffered, for the sake of Jesus!

Numbered With Transgressors (Isaiah 53:8 – Matthew 27:38)

He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was He stricken.” (Isaiah 53:8)

“Then were there two thieves crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left. (Matthew 27:38)

Perfectly Righteous blameless sinless holy is our Master Jesus, and here, they number Him with a murderer and a thief. And He still asks His Father to forgive them! What A Merciful God, we have. How sad that they knew Him not. Dragging His holy name through the mud, but he suffered it to be so, for you, for me, for the transgressors He was numbered with.

They Crucified Him (Psalm 22:16 – Luke 23:33)

“For dogs have surrounded me, – an assembly of evil doers have encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.” (Psalm 22:16)

And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the malefactors one on the right hand, and one on the left. (Luke23:33)

What is a drowned world, a burning Sodom, a plagued Egypt, an opened hell, in comparison of The Son of God accursed troubled in spirit till He knew not what to say amazed and very heavy sorrowful even unto death in an agony sweating great drops of blood tormented and insulted by men harassed by devils nailed to a cross groaning and giving up the Ghost, under the weight of infinite wrath!

Sceptics have suggested that these prophesies were accidently or coincidently, accurately fulfilled by Jesus. According to the science of probability the chance of any one human being, until the present, fulfilling just a selection of just eight of these prophesies (including the one of the crucifixion) is 10 to the power of 17. That means the chance of it happening is 1 in 1000 000 000 000 000 000 “Evidence that demands a verdict” John Mc Dowell.

And what about 48 Prophesies? Then the chance becomes 1 X 10 to the power of 157. That is to say: 1 in 10 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 0

Trinity of God:

The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

All Power unto The Son:

But unto The Son HE saith; “Thy throne, O God, is unto times age-abiding, and A sceptre of equity is the sceptre of His Kingdom .” (Hebrews 1:8)

“And I saw, and behold a white horse: and He that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto Him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.” (Revelation 6:2)

But, in a manner more expressibly exalted, God represents His Son Jesus as a divine person, The True God, whose dominion is everlasting and unchangeable, and as a ruling His extensive empire over all things with infinite equity, truth, and righteousness.

Never did God call any of the loftiest angels to sit enthroned in majesty, power and glory, and at His Right hand, till sin, satan, death, and all His and His peoples enemies, should be subdued under His feet as vanquished rebels? Are not all these spiritual beings placed in an infinitely lower station, being no more than messengers and servants of Jesus.

Blessed be God that He has spoken so much in mercy and grace to mankind, that we may enjoy the fullest, the clearest, and last discovery of His “person” and Will that is to be expected on earth.

Unbounded is the glory of our Redeemer, as The Son of God and our Mediator.

Being essentially One with, but personally distinct from, and equal to, His Eternal Father, Jesus is the Creator, Proprietor, and Preserver of all things. He is enthroned at The Right hand of God. There He forever reigns the self-existent, The eternal and immutable God, the object of adoration to Angels and men!!

King of Kings

And He had on His mantle and on His thigh a Name written, King of kings, and Master of masters. (Revelation 19:16)

Jesus having His Name, King of kings and Master of masters, on His mantle and thigh, imports that, by His Mighty acts, He effectually and illustriously proves Himself Sovereign Master and Ruler of all the potentates, princes, and nobles, of the world. To govern, influence, restrain, save, or destroy them, or to work by or upon them, as He pleases.

In all let us behold Jesus, God’s Holy One, made of God unto us sanctification; Jesus, on whose Shoulder the government is laid, and who bares and carries His people on His everlasting arms; Jesus, through whom we have access to, and fellowship with, God, even The Father: Jesus, our Strong Hold to such as trust in Him; Jesus, our elevated propitiation and exalted Prince and Saviour; Jesus, who was made manifest in the flesh, that He might be our Joy and Consolation.

Let us behold Him as a divinely appointed, a near, an accessible, ever open, large, well-furnished, and eternally safe refuge from the just vengeance of a broken law, the destructive wrath from an angry God, the fury of a raging devil, and the ruinous challenges of a guilty conscience, a refuge of sinners of mankind, who have ignorantly, and in unbelief, spiritually murdered themselves, their neighbours, and even The Great God their Saviour!!!! And, oh, what profitable instruction and complete peace we have in Him! Haste then, escape to Him for your life; and let us never, never, dare to be found without Him. Amen, and Amen!

Think about the power He possesses:
He is above all rule, authority, dominion and every name that is named.
All things are in subjection to Him.
Everything in Heaven, on earth and beneath the earth must obey Him.
Now are you ready for this?
All that Jesus is and all the power and authority He possesses is in His Name!
All the fullness of The Godhead is in His Name!
There is salvation in His Name!
Everything we need is in His Name!
As a child of God, you may call upon The Name of Jesus.
You may put into operation the power and authority that is in that Name to heal the sick, preach the gospel, to cast out demons or whatever you need as a child of The Almighty to do His Will.
Jesus loves you.
How Great You Are ABBA FATHER, and how small we are.
